Disappearing Marshmallow Bars

My absolute favorite dessert bars to make!! I remember making these EVERY DAY when Mom went to Utah to visit her nun aunts/cousins at the convent...back when Dad was still alive.

(Bars turned out a little darker than normal--so I may have overbaked them a bit--but I think the chocolate chips also melted some when I mixed them in)

Disappearing Marshmallow Bars
*½ c. butterscotch chips
*¼ c. butter or margarine
*¾ c. flour
*1/3 c. brown sugar
*1 tsp. baking powder
*¼ tsp. salt
*½ tsp. vanilla
*1 egg
*1 c. mini-marshmallows
*1 c. chocolate chips

1. Melt butterscotch chips and butter in saucepan.
2. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm.
3. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla and egg.
4. Fold in marshmallows and chocolate chips when mixture is relatively cool otherwise chocolate chips will melt right away!
5. Spread in 9-inch greased and flour pan.
6. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.

NOTE: Middle may appear jiggly; do not overbake!
